Much of the area that is currently at or below freezing will stay sub-freezing today. Milder areas to the south & east will fall below freezing this afternoon, turning any areas of water or slush into ice.
The main band of freezing rain is still near & south of I-84 (shaded in red above). Area will likely expand further north during the morning.
Modeling looks like it’s too warm with today’s temps so Ice accretion problems likely from where they exist now (red, shaded area above), and expanding northward into more of northern Connecticut and western Mass. as sleet in those areas changes to freezing rain. A warmer solution has become more likely since yesterday so I am lowering expected snow amounts. Expecting 3″-7″ north of I-84, 1″-4″ south of I-84, except 3″-5″ across the northeast hills.
