A Flash Flood Watch is in Effect For the Region Thursday
- Be on the lookout for ice falling out of trees today (where it exists) and snow/ice flying off of vehicles as temperatures rise above freezing today.
- Chance for a shower by late afternoon/evening today. A spot or two of sleet or freezing rain possible across the interior early on.
- Potential for reduced visibility in fog tonight. Also drizzle & a few showers.
- Potential for flooding Thursday, as rain will be heavy at times and accumulate 1″-2″ on top of high water content snow/ice pack and frozen ground. Some thunder possible.
- Rain ends by late afternoon Thursday as temperatures turn colder.
- A strong low-level jet stream will produce high winds aloft Thursday. At this point I’m thinking most of that won’t reach the surface (maybe 12-15 mph) until late in the day when winds shift into the northwest and get a little gusty, but this will have to be monitored.
- Temps will rise into the 30’s today, through the 40’s tonight, and into the 50’s Thursday before turning colder late Thursday.
